| I purchased a Samsung Plasma television in September 2006. In March it developed screen burn. The picture is bad, it has bars on the screen and is a waste of $1,600. Samsung customer service points the finger at me for several reasons 1. I abused and mis-used the product by not changing the channels when a widescreen pisture was not on the screen 2. I did not do my research as a consumer when buying a plasma television and should have realized that plasma televisions have a high degree of screen burn problems 3. Lastly they have no intention of helping me with my purchase or repairing the product. Their customer service support is abusive, confrontational, and very disrespective of their customers. The model I bought has been discntinued (I suspect because of problems). I would never purchse another Samsung product again. And if you are buying a television buyer beware - Samsung says their plasmas can burn in ten minutes or less, and that your viewing of non 16:9 formats should be no more than 5% of your total viewing time. I subscribe to Comcast and that is impossible to view that way. Samsungs answer to this - change the channel during commercials. Buyer beware I hope this does not happen to you. I wish I had the means to initiate a class action lawsuit. |
