I'm feeling

about

rick`s is feeling upset about Telstra

good  bad

A couple of weeks ago my modem line went down. Popped outside
and noticed a Telstra contractor performing brain surgery on a cable containing
about 200 lines. Not 10m. from my door. I mention the fault, he says "Oh, it
shouldn't have happened, I've been v.careful. I'm REPLACING ALL THE CONNECTORS."

After he mucked about a while, fixed my specific connector, my modem line came back
up.

Two interesting points with this incident:

(a) I am not a Telstra customer, and received no advance warning that this type
of destructive work was being carried out on my lines;

(b) under said contractor's instructions to call 018 018 222 to verify what number
I was calling from, both of my lines reported the same (wrong) number, prolly
once again due to the fact I am not with Telstra
