| I was given a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner, model Animal D07 as a bridal shower gift one week ago. Several people contributed to purchasing it for me, so it was paid for by cash at a local Target store. The price of the item was $499.00. The gift receipt was taped to the top of the box, but when I unwrapped it, I must have ripped the receipt off with the wrapping paper, and threw it away accidentally. The model I wanted was the Animal D17, which sells for $549.00, and is carried at a local Target store in Rockaway, NJ. I explained this situation to 3 managers at the Rockaway store. They each scanned the SKU, which showed that it was in fact purchased at a Target store, however, since it was paid for by cash, they could not trace it back to when it was purchased. All three managers told me that since the item was over $40.00 there was NOTHING they could do for me, if I don't have a receipt. Now I am technically stuck with a $499.00 vacuum cleaner, that is the not the model that I want. I am so incrediby disappointed in the Target company, their return policy, and their unprofessionalism of the customer service and staff. What happened to the customer is always right? Obviously not at Target. All I wanted was to exchange my UNOPENED brand new $499.00 Dyson vacuum for a $549.00 Dyson vacuum that they would have been making even more money off of. I have spent thousands of dollars at Target. It all comes down to this situation that will cause for me to NEVER shop at a Target store again. |
